PLAY

This project stemmed from curiosity. In the search for an alternative primary source of inspiration,  hand made artefacts constructed from plaster cast, foam, metals and embroidery silks influenced a collection of mixed media collages that shaped the project. 

 

The combination of collage, texture, embroidery, shape, marks, composition and negative space were all elements translated into the print studio. Newfound shapes formed the imagery of the collection to construct new compositions by collaging screen imagery over monoprint grounds.

 

Playful tactile qualities were achieved using a combination of opaque and heat reactive binders with pigment, generating a chalky and textural finish to the fabric ideal for Childrenswear.
